Hi, I’m JoAnn Fakhouri, the founder and recipe creator behind Freeing Sweets. In 2018, I was craving cheesecake but couldn’t find anything that matched my dietary needs and my taste buds. So, I made my own—and The Best F*ing Cheesecake Ever! was born.

That one recipe sparked a much bigger mission: to create desserts that feel nostalgic, taste amazing, and happen to be gluten-free and plant-based. Since then, I’ve expanded Freeing Sweets into a full line of cookies, fudge cakes, tarts, chocolate bars, and more—each one designed to surprise and delight.

My goal has always been the same: to help people feel joy, freedom, and indulgence in every bite.
